Rooted in Cabo
In 1989, El Squid Roe opened its doors in an old warehouse with a simple goal: to create a place where everyone felt like family. Over 35 years later, our walls are decorated with the history of Cabo San Lucas. While we are known for the music and the energy, our foundation is built on the quiet strength of our neighbors and our team. We don’t just work in Cabo; we are a part of its heartbeat.
Supporting The Letty Coppel Foundation & Beyond
We believe that our platform should serve those in need. Our commitment to health and wellness is year-round, not just seasonal.
-
Cancel Cancer Retro Party: In partnership with the Letty Coppel Foundation, we host annual Retro Parties for a Cause. These events have raised significant funds to provide custom-made external prosthetics for over 100 breast cancer survivors in our community.
-
The Pink Bus Initiative: Our iconic London bus isn't just a landmark; it’s a symbol of hope. Painted pink for breast cancer awareness, it serves as a reminder of our year-round commitment to research and support. Guests can choose to add a donation to their tab at any time to support this vital cause.

Children's Day at el Squid roe
Every year, El Squid Roe transforms into a magical wonderland for local children with disabilities.
-
A Day of Joy: Our staff trades their uniforms for superhero and princess costumes to host a day of face painting, live shows, and games.
-
The Toy Match Program: Every April, we invite our guests to donate toys for local children. To ensure the impact is doubled, El Squid Roe matches every single toy donated, ensuring twice as many smiles across Los Cabos.

Preserving the Beauty of Baja California Sur
Cabo’s natural beauty is a gift, and we recognize our responsibility to protect it. Our team doesn't just work behind the bar; they work on the ground.
-
Downtown Clean-Ups: Our staff leads regular "Keep It Clean" initiatives, hitting the streets of downtown Cabo to ensure our city remains pristine for locals and visitors alike.
-
Seaside Beach Sweeps: We organize frequent beach clean-ups to protect our coastal ecosystems and local wildlife from pollution.
-
Local Sourcing: In our kitchen, we prioritize the "Local First" rule. Our fresh pescado and produce are sourced from regional fishermen and farmers, reducing our carbon footprint while supporting the local economy.

Resilience & Loyalty Since 1989
Our story is told through the people who stay.
-
Longevity: We are proud to be one of Cabo’s most stable employers. Many of our team members have been with us for over three decades, growing from young staff to leaders within our family.
-
Hurricane Resilience: We have weathered every storm alongside this town. From Hurricane Kiko in 1989 to the present, we make it a point to open our doors as soon as possible—not for profit, but to provide a sense of normalcy and "ignite the destination" again. We ensure our employees' families are safe first, then we work together to bring the light back to Cabo.

Join the Mission
This mission isn’t ours alone; it’s a shared effort between our team and our guests. We don’t ask for grand gestures—we believe in the power of small, honest contributions. Whether you add a donation, drop off a toy in April, or join a downtown clean-up, you become a stakeholder in Los Cabos future. We aren’t here to change the world overnight, but we are here to ensure our home thrives.
